Meet the doctor
Hi, I am Dr. Lillian Thomas I graduated from Sherman College of Chiropractic in 2009 and have a wealth of knowledge and experience in caring for infants, prenatal patients, and families. When I became a mother, my infant struggled with breastfeeding, a painful latch, and difficulty gaining weight. This was one of the most stressful experiences of my life. I constantly worried about his weight and whether he was getting enough to eat. Eventually, we made the difficult decision to switch to formula so that he could thrive.
This was a painful journey for me, as breastfeeding was my ultimate goal. I had imagined myself being one of those mothers who breastfed for one or two years. However, after only five months of struggle and poor weight gain, we began supplementing his diet, and by 10 months of age, he was completely weaned from breastfeeding. I felt like a failure, especially as a chiropractor. I thought I had all the knowledge and tools to help my baby thrive. But what I learned is that I didn't have the training or the support I needed.
After going through this experience I learned that chiropractic and specifically craniosacral therapy can truly help mom and baby have a successful breastfeeding experience. Once I understood this I felt that it was my life calling to help mothers and babies have the best experience possible during that first year of life. I pursued extensive studies related to infant bodywork and breastfeeding and received training in craniosacral therapy specifically for infants. I started to build a team with lactation consultants and pediatric dentists who diagnose ties and together had the honor of helping many families reach their goals.
My family and I recently relocated to Georgia from North Carolina for my husband’s job at KSU! And I am so excited to be able to bring what I do to the community here. I consider it an honor and a privilege to work with you and your baby to help you achieve the feeding relationship you dreamed of. Because of my struggles, I am now able to not only empathize with you but also provide you with the hands-on tools to help your baby thrive.
I love seeing all members of the family not just babies! If you or someone you love has other issues please ask me how I can help!
